I came across a tweet, a man was talking about how he was within his rights to beat his wife. I don’t know if it’s okay for him to beat his woman where he’s from.

It’s called abuse, it’s even a criminal offense. It is never okay to beat anyone, especially someone you have vowed, and implied, “I will care for and protect this woman”. Any religion, philosophy, law or lame brain that thinks beating a loved one or anyone, is not only ignorant of common morality, they are more then ignorant, they are stupid monsters. Grow up. If you are simply asking the question for clarity and would never harm anyone, then good question.
Well, some Muslims will argue that it is allowed for husbands to punish their wives whenever they disobey them or go against them. Men are in charge of women by what Allah has given one over the other and what they spend from their wealth. So righteous women are devoutly obedient. But those wives from whom you fear arrogance – first advise them; then if they persist, forsake them in bed; and finally, strike them. But if they obey you seek no means against them.
