I have a 2.7GPA and I’ve tried applying to some colleges but all to no avail. What are my chances of getting into any in Colorado?

There are lots of universities that will accept such, especially students that are self-funded, the vast majority of those will be private. That doesn’t mean you are condemned to a private university with a hefty bill for the entire duration of your degree, however. You aren’t beyond redemption, and scholastic performance in classes isn’t the only metric that universities use to predict the future performance of applicants. In fact many students who excel in classes discover in graduate school that they are actually rather crummy researchers.

Of course you there are, if there is a good reason the applicant has less than a 3.0 GPA, describing that in the application may help offset it somewhat. So would a strong GRE score. So would other evidence of achievement. The GPA is only one measure of ability and personal qualities needed for a grad degree. Very selective schools have so many applicants of such high quality that they don’t need to consider anyone with less than stellar records. Other schools, however, have a broader range of applicants and are often willing to admit people who show positive signs but may have had some stumbles along the way. I highly suggest you apply to as many as you can, you will surely get in.
