The Ledger doesn’t actually contain your crypto currency at all. It only holds the key to your crypto currency. The actual coins are on the various blockchains on the internet. If your ledger is wiped, lost or destroyed, all you need to do is get another one or a compatible wallet and enter your recovery words to gain access to your holdings again.
You’d be able to retrieve your coins only if you have the password and recovery phrases. You can either get another Ledger Nano S or use a compatible software wallet as quickly as possible. Use the recovery phrase to initialize the new wallet to the same key as the lost wallet. Do not waste any time doing this. If the Ledger Nano S is in the hands of someone trying to break it, there’s no way to know how much time you have.
