Semipermanent tattoos are the new deal, especially common among the younger generation. These temporary options use hennalike inks to stain the top layer of skin for about a week, which is just long enough to take a few good photos and maybe scare your parents. These tattoos are a reversible approach to an otherwise permanent decision, which makes them an easy fit for the ways young people perform, contort, and reimagine their appearance online.

Organ donors are not always compensated because the organ donors usually die. If people are paid for their organs, people would be killed for their organs. It’s like putting a bounty on killing for trade in human parts. If you voluntarily donate a kidney, you will probably not have to pay the medical bills for the procedure. Perhaps the recipient will offer you some money, but only for an organ you can live without. You can’t voluntarily donate a heart, for instance. You can’t live without that one. You can sign an organ donor card voluntarily before death, but only in the event of your brain death. If not signed, no one can just take your organs.
