Some times, at some major points in life, it is good to compare oneself to others, mostly your peers, this allows you out a check on yourself, track your growth and put effort and pressure where you need to. Some people go to the extreme when it comes to comparing themself to others, this they take it to a whole different negative level, pretty sure that is why it is not always advised to compare oneself to others.
