We were strangers on a bus and never saw each other again after that night. But he changed my life. I was returning to Los Angeles by bus from Las Vegas, a 5-hour trip. I’d gone there to reunite and visit with friends from back East. I sat in the back of the bus, infront of a guy in his 20s who was mostly on his phone throughout.
See lessMy seat mate couldn’t hear me as I cried quietly, holding my phone to my chest as I read message after message from my ex. I went onto discord, and starting venting on a server. And then I got a delightful tap on my shoulder; A simple, “Hey, what’s up? You okay?” And that was the start of a beautiful friendship. The start of seeing how caring and beautiful someone’s heart and soul can truly be. I talked, I vented out to this person and he became the closest person to me ever. I shared things with him, I grew to love him and we were so happy. I never did expect anyone to come to me, I never expected to make a brand new friend. To confide in a complete stranger, I never expected to meet someone I could grow to love more than anyone else in this world. But I did. He changed me. He helped me grow. He helped me move on. And I will always be thankful for him. Thankful that he took the time to help and care about some random girl on bus.
And I will be forever thankful. And I appreciate the hell out of him.
