      There are many businesses out there that kickstarted with the power and help of crowdfunding. But I would say it’s definitely better etiquette to offer something in return, but crowdfunding in general I have no problem with, especially as part of it is about convincing people to part with their money. And in doing so, they have possibly mitigated a decent amount of risk. They’re receiving donations so they might be able to gauge how popular the idea is and establish customers base early on and then it’s not all their own money gone if it fails.
