Some people say they take them away and polish them and give them, all fresh and gleaming, to a new baby who needs them. So, somewhere, there could be a baby with your lost teeth. Again, resourceful or creepy? I’m not sure. Quite common is the idea that the fairies take them to protect them. A lot of old magic uses a person’s teeth or hair as part of the spell. By taking the teeth away, the fairies can keep them safe and make sure that child is never cursed. I would assume, in that scenario, that they have huge vaults of teeth somewhere, great buildings full of them, out of harm’s way.
