That doesn’t mean you are condemned to a private university with a hefty bill for the entire duration of your degree, however. You aren’t beyond redemption, and scholastic performance in classes isn’t the only metric that universities use to predict the future performance of applicants. In fact many students who excel in classes discover in graduate school that they are actually rather crummy researchers.
