I think apple has done a lot of modifications with the FaceTime feature. It used to consume really lots of data before but that has changed. There’s an easy way to see how much cellular data any particular app has used on your phone. Go to Settings, then go to Cellular and scroll down until you see the app in question, in this case, FaceTime. If you’ve never reset these statistics, this will be a historic reference for how much data it has consumed since the last reset.
