Know how you work best, I do my best analytical work in the morning and schedule meetings in the afternoons. Buy a good chair- do not go through 40+ hours sitting on a terrible chair, your back will hurt so badly by the end. Lastly, take coffee or water cooler breaks: Stretch, get a drink, or go outside! Breaks are normal in an office and should happen when you’re remote too.

Registries were invented so newlyweds didn’t end up with 18 identical toasters. I think they’re great in that aspect. I think it’s even better when my friends who already have been living together for years have people donate to a cause instead. The wedding registry isn’t a compulsory summons that must be obeyed, and anyone who treats it like one is being boorish. The registry is there to give people ideas, for those who would like them, without having to call the couple directly to ask what they need.
