I just may understand why your daughter thinks she’s outgrown cartoons already. Lol. I was once like that, I just really wanted my parents to not see me as a baby anymore coupled with the fact that I was the only child at the time. However, the main reason people associate animated shows with being childish is because young children especially are exposed to and grow up on cartoons like Scooby-Doo or animated shows like Backyardigans etc. Besides shows, many movies from Disney and Pixar aimed at a younger crowd tend to be animated – Finding Nemo, Moana, etc. Thus, many people associate animation with something used to entertain children and meant for children only. Obviously, this is not completely true; I have many friends who enjoy anime, and I personally enjoy animated movies as well, but because of products and media introduced to children, adults and teens tend to look down upon or turn away from anything animated.
