It’s when they quit without notice or communication- just stop showing up or walk out or cause drama on the way out that get employers upset. Acting that way is unnecessary and disrespectful. Even if a person must quit immediately, they can still communicate that, which is better than just falling off the face of the earth. What makes an employee upset about the disappearing act is that they cared about their people and their well being. If someone didn’t show and couldn’t be reached, they would genuinely worried that something had happened to them. But When they find out that they just decided to quit and not say anything, it would be frustrating and upsetting, even more so further down the road, when they came back contrite, wanting, needing another chance, but policy had required to mark them as ineligible for rehire due to the way they quit.

The application started already. I’m not sure if it’s ended though. However, I’ll still run you through the requirements and how to go about it. The Diversity visa program provides green cards to foreign citizens in countries with low immigration rates to the US in the previous five years. Generally, countries, where less than 50,000 natives immigrated to the US in the last five years, meet these criteria. If you are a native from one of the following countries, you are not eligible for this period: Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, China (mainland born), Colombia, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, India, Jamaica, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, South Korea, United Kingdom (except Northern Ireland) and its dependent territories, and Vietnam. Applicants must have at least a high school diploma or equivalent, or two years’ work experience over the past five years in an eligible field that requires at least two years of training. Applicants must have a valid, unexpired passport to participate. This requirement is implemented to curb high numbers of fraudulent enrollments in the program, typically by fraudulent organizations submitting entries as a scam.
