It’s cruel. Not only is animal testing responsible for the deaths of millions of animals each year, it also subjects them to torture before hand. Procedures include inflicting terrible and painful diseases on the animal while they are in a conscious or semi-conscious state and observing until there deaths. Rarely are the animals killed before they experience pain. Some primates also have crash helmets tested on them. There heads are subjected to high velocity before a sharp stop which usually breaks there neck. There head is then dissected and examined for injury. The majority of tests are done on mice and other rodents as well as rabbits. They are starved, fed poisonous products and are examined in unmentionable places in the name of science. Cats and dogs suffer the same fate as well as many highly intelligent primates.
