Does living in small city have genuine advantages over living in big city?
Small town is my preference. I lived 20years in a suburb of the big city, and I worked in the downtown area for 7years. It's noisy. Small town is my preference. I lived 20years in a suburb of the big city, and I worked in the downtown area for 7years. It’s noisy. You can’t really make friends with workmates, because they live over the other side of the city. I might commute an hour to get to work, and they commute an hour, but it takes 2 hours to get to tjeir place. Hardly conducive to dropping in for a coffee and a chat. The city is a lonely place. It’s a cold place. Those people closest to you physically are distant emotionally. Everyone is concerned only about themselves. Their money, their lives. The city is full of people who don’t care about you. They figure there’s plenty of other people they could be friends with, so they don’t bother with you. So I moved. I’ve lived 10 years in a small town. Much slower pace of life. More free time with far less time wasted commuting. People are friendlier. There’s an unwritten rule that we’re in it together. What affects you also affects your neighbour. We all get the same rain and the same drought. More people live off the land, so these things are important. Communities band together for the benefit of all. It’s close to a small city, so we don’t miss out on anything. We still have the shops and entertainment of a larger city. It’s just that we have one instead of dozens. eg one cinema complex. One hardware superstore. One K-Mart. One is all you need. House prices in a small town are much cheaper than in the city.

See lessIf you have an ink pen on you, circle the bite wound and write the time and date on your leg. It sounds ridiculous, but this helps doctors gauge what the venom is doing. It might also help determine how much venom was used. Some snakes won’t inject any.
Try to keep the bitten area below your heart.
I realize this sounds crazy, but stay calm. The more panicked you are, the more your blood starts moving through your veins as well as the venom. Take deep breathes, chant, count numbers, listen to music.
