Since private school may not receive public funding, private schools often have a choice about accepting kids on the spectrum. Some specialize in autism and only accept kids with autism diagnoses. An example of such school is Jericho School, established by parents and local business people in Jacksonville, Florida. The Jericho School offers specialized, science-based education opportunities for people with autism and additional developmental disorders. Jericho’s curriculum incorporates Verbal and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to provide students with individualized and comprehensive instruction. This school is well-reviewed by parents who have had autistic children attend. One mother noted the science-based curriculum at Jericho helped her low functioning autistic daughter become a productive and happy adult.

They are your parents, they have seen you grow and have seen every little detail about you. They have seen your patterns and know your behaviour more than you realise and they have seen the world a bit more. Because of these factors, we must listen to them. So the first step is to give them a patient hearing. However, just because they are our parents doesn’t mean we accept all the things blindly. We must have our own thought process. After giving them a patient listening, it’s your time to think about what they have said. They are the ones with whom you have a lifelong relationship and a close one. After having thought about their opinion properly, you may decide on the appropriate action to be taken. Either communicate your decision, go about it slowly or maybe even secretly in some cases or postpone it or reject it or whatever. It is time to take the appropriate action because you have really thought about it and now you are very sure of the decision you have made. So hear them out and give it a thought, even you might learn something directly or indirectly.
