2020 was really a very tough year in all ramifications for a lot of people, myself included. I’d just launched my startup before the pandemic started, it was a big blow for my business as the startup seemed to fold up even before it started. I was totally depressed. Then again, lockdowns we’re lifted and everyone started coming outside, I thought to start again, and till now, I’m still struggling to keep it running. I know quite a few people who haven’t found their feet yet as a result of the pandemic. It’s not their fault, they wish to move on, but they just can’t.

Slow parenting is a parenting style where parents consciously choose to take the pressure off their children and let them explore their world on their own terms. It allows for everyone to be present and focus on family time without a calendar full of scheduled activities. When parents allow children the space for trial and error, children become adept at solving problems independently. These children rely on their internal resources to creatively find solutions. They do not expect or anticipate an adult ‘swooping in’ to rescue them.

This can be translated in many ways— will I pay for my mom’s lifestyle? Yes. Will I sponsor my dad’s lifestyle? Yes. My wife or children? Yes. This can be translated in many ways— will I pay for my mom’s lifestyle? Yes. Will I sponsor my dad’s lifestyle? Yes. My wife or children? Yes. You see, it all depends on the situation and perspective. When you’re told not sponsor the lifestyle of others, you’re simply being told not to make silly financial mistakes that involves you paying for a person’s lifestyle, a lifestyle they cannot afford for themselves. If they can afford it, they wouldn’t need an external body to pay for it.
