You may find the type of work you find intrinsically interesting or that you feel passionately about. But co-workers, opportunities for training and personal growth, facilities, equipment, and even public perceptions about your work and status as well as pay, can all affect how you feel about your work. I had a job that didn’t pay well but that I enjoyed. I left when I needed new glasses and car repairs and could’t afford either. I went to a job that allowed me to buy things and travel a bit on vacations. But the boredom and dissatisfaction about my day-to-day life grew. I ended up back at an interesting job I enjoyed but that didn’t pay as well.
