The price and material of engagement or wedding rings do not matter to me. It’s supposed to be a symbol of your love, not the symbol of your salary. The idea that people were supposed to spend 2 months of their salary was originally a marketing ploy. There is a history behind that belief that is completely about advertising and someone else making money. Where do you want the focus? A symbol of your love for each other that is meaningful because you like the ring? Or something that is for other people and their pockets? I choose the former over the latter.
