As you grow older, the fact that you’re getting old annoys you more than anything. Which is why you may find simple courtesies such as ma/sir. You know people are just trying to respect you when they call you ma or sir. But you just can’t help but feel they think you’re so old, like “don’t say that, I’m not that old.
