I don’t think it relates to Stockholm Syndrome at all. With Narc Abuse you are clearly discarded, with Stockholm Syndrome you are held captive- the two are opposite. With Narc abuse, you are not relating to your abuser, rather you don’t realize you’re being abused until it’s too late. So I would equate Narc abuse and detoxing from a Narc to drug addiction… you are emotionally, physically, and spiritually broken by the end.
I cannot speak of Stockholm Syndrome because I have never been held captive.

The proper term used for this is dual-booting. If your laptop is currently running on a Windows OS, then you can allocate a new partition on your HDD with the help of the Windows Disk Management tool. Then, all you have to do is download an image file of your favourite Linux based OS and make it bootable over a USB flash drive with the help of convenient tool like Rufus.
After you are through with that, change your BIOS settings related to booting management such as by enabling the Legacy support.
Connect your flash drive with your laptop and check out the boot options where you will find that an option is available for booting via the USB flash drive, go for it.
You will enter the new Linux OS where all you have to do is follow the instructions and choose the appropriate partition where you want to install it.
Afterwards, whenever you will boot your PC, you will encounter the GRUB loader depending upon your Linux distro where you will have the options to choose whether you want to boot your Linux based OS or the Windows 10. You can watch some YouTube video on how to go about it, you will understand better.
