Asthma is an allergic disease. So basically it is like any other allergy, which can be treated and controlled but can not be cured. For you to control it, first identify your inhalational allergen or irritant usual allergens are smoke , dust and pollen. All you can do is prevent exposure from these allergens or irritants. And consult a Doctor when symptoms like difficulty in breathing, wheezing, chest tightness etc. occur. Cigarette smoking and passive smoke may reduce the effectiveness of medications I developed asthma attack 2 years back due to dust and smoke, I keep distance from these allergens and since then I havent had any attack till date.
