Michelangelo was essentially the best ever at anything he put his unparalleled mind to. That so many of his years were spent on lesser toil, as opposed to the sculpting that he loved, the messages and lessons in David, the breathtaking beauty of his first Pieta. He never got near finishing the one he most wanted, Leo’s tomb, which is a sad shadow of what he envisioned, but was continually dragged away from. He could be petty, and a bit of a whiner at times, but Michelangelo, to me, is the height of human achievement, our greatest genius to date.

Statistically, the best way to deal with a stalker is to give no response, positive or negative, if you are the victim. However, if the stalker has an erotomanic disorder, he or she will imagine that you are communicating through other means: anything from a certain color being somewhere in public to the way a tree is growing. There is no guarantee that you can do anything to make a sick person stop fixating on you. It’s important to take precautions and stay safe. Do not interact. Do not answer the door to your stalker. Do not stay where this person is or can see you. Do not confront a stalker. Report everything to authorities, even if your stalker cannot be charged yet. Keep a record of everything your stalker, does to interact with you. Use everything legally available to get this person in the system, so that professionals can help.
