Empathy is the ability to perceive the feelings of others and to put oneself in another’s shoes. Usually people, even those with personality disorders, can do that. What is really meant is not the ability to simply perceive the feelings of others, but to care about what they are perceiving, or care in some way which is not only in regards to how they themselves are impacted.
For example, consider those with narcissistic personality disorder. These are able to perceive the feelings of others, but won’t bother to do so unless they believe doing so will somehow benefit them, in which case they will. Hence they don’t lack empathy in the technical sense of the phrase, but they do in the sense the phrase is genuinely understood.
To conclude, if “lack of empathy” is taken to mean the lack of concerned empathy, this is not of itself a mental illness, but a very strong symptom of such, especially of the cluster personality disorders, either narcissistic personality disorder or one of the others.

Excellent Communication Skills— It goes without saying that if you want to represent an organization and engage with their customers, then you need to have strong communication skills. But you also need good communication skills for getting along with colleagues, especially since you’ll be working in a fast-paced environment.
Creativity — One of the most important attributes of social media marketing is creativity. To keep people engaged and hooked, marketers will need to consistently come up with new and engaging ideas, creative initiatives, and campaigns.
Writing Ability— Although images and videos dominate much of social media, writing also plays a critical role. Whether you’re creating a Facebook post or crafting a tweet, writing stands as an essential part of a social media marketer’s job profile. If headlines aren’t magnetic or captivating enough, it’s likely people are not going to be motivated enough to click.
Content Curation — This has always been a major part of social media marketing, primarily for those businesses that do not have the time to create a steady flow of content on their own. Content curation is an important skill for a social media marketer since they will need to know when to share, what to share and how to share, in addition to being familiar with content sources and audience preferences.
