It depends, especially if you were wrongly fired, cos what else would make a company that previously fired you want to rehire you? You may have been offered to be rehired to prevent a possible legal termination issue that was their fault. Management may partly be trying to cover themselves even if you don’t come back. I’m sure they’re taking notes or saving all communications of all subsequent conversations in case anything goes further. Just another perspective imo. Whether you rejoin or not is partly a pride issue as well, as not everyone can handle that.

Yes and no. I’m not done with my first self publishing, and I’m not going to judge how well it worked out until I’m a few more books in. On the down side, I haven’t made a great deal of money, but I have had the great joy of having people whom I have never met say that they really enjoy what I wrote. Making that connection with someone I don’t know is kind of an amazing feeling. Still, I really wouldn’t mind selling enough copies of my book to have a meaningful income.
