If you feel that you are competently capable of building and operating a website by yourself, then by all means go for self-hosting. Not only will you have to deal with building the site yourself, but also hosting it from your own server or home computer. This can be a laborious and expensive process by yourself, so I’d only recommend doing that if you have en expert guide to hand or are extremely competent in web development. I would strongly recommend WordPress hosting because you can still sink your teeth into some technical management, but without the actual headaches of full-on web development. Managed WordPress hosting is ideal if you need someone to take care of the nitty-gritty technical labour of getting your site up and running properly. Using Managed WordPress hosting allows you to focus on making the site professional and presentable, without having to take time off from your business to figure out some FTP error. WordPress is highly customisable and allows a great deal of creative freedom. Managed WordPress hosting takes away most of the headache-inducing work, but frees you up to look after and polish your own website as you see fit. WordPress also comes with stacks of free, but valuable, plugins.
