I think it’s great when people choose a career where their strengths and passions combine. Parents should desist from treating their child as an extension of themselves. Your child is a unique individual. They are not you. The things that interest you might not interest them. Many parent force career paths on their children just because they feel it’s the best for them or they (parents) wanted to go through that career in life but never had the chance, so they see their children as a way to live their dreams. Parents should help their child discover their interests, strengths and passion. You can do this by exposing your child to various activities that pique that interest and can help boost their strength. Be supportive of your children in their career decisions, only your child knows his or her strength and capacity.
