      It may feel awkward asking for a pay raise, it may even seem as though you’re greedy. While many may feel this way, they simply wait on their employer until they notice them and go through their salary scheme, then offer them a raise. Best believe, they won’t always do that. So, the only option you have is speaking up. Asking for a raise is normal and it doesn’t make you feel greedy, so far you’ve worked for it. First, be thoughtful about your timing and approach. Don’t approach when your employer is in a foul mood or having a terrible day, or when the company is in crisis.

Instead of going straight from full-time work to dropping out of the workforce entirely, some people choose to transition to fewer hours, or leave a demanding full-time job for something less stressful or more fulfilling, even if it pays less. This is known as semi-retirement.
