While delaying nature’s call for an hour or two won’t pose any threat to your health, it’s possible to harm your body by holding pee for too long, or by making a habit of not relieving yourself often enough. A healthy bladder can hold about 2 cups of urine before it’s considered full. It takes your body 9 to 10 hours to produce 2 cups of urine. That’s about as long as you can wait and still be in the safe zone without the possibility of damaging your organs. Holding urine for too long can cause a person to develop urinate tract infection, and in some rare cases, it can cause the bladder to burst.

At one point or the other, we’ve all been prescribed antibiotics. A lot of us use them when the illness is at its worst, but stop when we start to feel better. This act has potential to do more harm than good in the long run. Antibiotics work by either killing or limiting the bacteria and when we don’t complete the antibiotics, we stop the good work that the antibiotics do. Even if the symptoms go away, the bacteria may still be present in your body. If you stop treatment before the antibiotic cycle is over, the remaining bacteria can continue to multiply.
