you can try these tips I’ll give and see if you get approved;
Upload a professional profile picture: part of the requirements for a personal upwork account is to upload a picture of you, with your face showing and wearing a casual professional attire. It is also good that the background of the picture should be plain as much as possible.
Your title and overview: i need not tell you that you should add your work title, a tip is to make it as precise as possible and also a little bit vague e.g Web Developer and not Frontend developer of Software developer, when all you can do is maybe HTML, CSS, JavaScript and some frontend frameworks. For the overview, in case you’re even accepted, you bid for a job, your overview is part of the first things a client will see. This will give them an impression about you. So as much as possible state your experience and introduce yourself briefly. Tip: Do not use bullet points in your header.
Hourly rate and portfolio: if you’re a new freelancer, better thing is to put an average hourly rate, or best still, search for other people in your niche and check their hourly rate. About portfolio, please look for a previous work to put in your portfolio, it shows that you can do what you say you can do. If you don’ t have a previous work then do one or two or three and put it in the portfolio space.
Skills and Tests: for the skill section you are allowed to put up to ten skills, make sure you fill up the space, make sure you put up to ten skills. If you think you don’t have up to ten skills, you do, so find related skills and put them there. (Not that the first three skills are displayed when someone views your profile, so you’ll want to make the first three skills the one you want people to see. For the tests, take related tests to your niche and also do the Upwork readiness test.
