Truth be told, it is fine as long as you are aware of any potential dangers in your surrounding area and take the necessary precautions. I for one absolutely adore exercising barefoot, whether it is running on the beach, beach volleyball, swimming, kite surfing, kayaking, yoga, Pilates, sailing, parasailing, canoeing, weight training, gymnastics, body balance, contemporary dance, cycling or martial arts. In fact I choose my exercises and sports based on whether I can do them barefoot. It’s totally okay for me.
