  1. Introversion is often conflated with shyness and/or social anxiety. Of course sometimes these all happen in the same person. They are distinct things. There are plenty of outgoing and sociable introverts. It means they’re sociable and friendly even outgoing but they have a limited capacity for interactions and have to retreat earlier than someone who is enriched by that energy. The social introvert is still drained by the interaction. I consider myself much more introverted than people think I am. They see me talking to everyone at parties, hosting events, and introducing people to each other having a great time. But what they don’t see is every time I have to take a break to go and sit in the bathroom for minutes and relax away from other people before I can go back out and socialize.
