Laptop speakers aren’t usually good speakers at all. They are tiny, and cheap, just enough to say it has internal speakers. Much like a TV will have speakers built in, but spending a bit more to buy a soundbar will vastly improve the sound quality. Assuming everything is working correctly. Your speakers may have additional problems. But nothing is going to make a laptops internal speakers sound nearly as good as good headphones or external speakers. Laptops are great for portability, but they have limits. Speakers are one.
You can try disabling anything to see if it fixes the problem or you could also do a system restore to a date before the problem started. It could also be that the speakers inside the laptop have malfunctioned and would need to be replaced. Do you use headphones with the laptop? Do the headphones have the same audio problems?
