Is it okay if my employer sends me on personal errands? Am I obligated to do that?
If your boss makes a habit out of asking you to run personal errands, your reaction should depend largely on your role within the organization. Consider whether or not the request contributes to the betterment of the business, as well as how much it interferes with the work-related tasks you’re assigned to do each day. You may find that completing personal errands provides a greater boost to your career aspirations than you previously realized.
If I were you, I’d start doing a real bad job at delivering those personal errands. Like lose the money if he gives me money to go buy stuff. Then if he gives me more money, lose it again. I’ll go out of my way to screw it up to the point where he has to realize if he wants something done right, he definitely shouldn’t ask you to do it! It could be kind of fun actually. Mess things up so bad that he would never dream of asking you to do his dumb shit for him again.
