Individuals without STEM degree can also function as data scientists in data science industries. Nnon-STEM individuals would, as expected, need to learn some programming language such as python. There is need to have knowledge of programming when pursuing a career in data science, same as gaining analytics skills. Working on little projects will help boost your experience as a beginner in the data science field.
If you have no STEM degree and doesn’t have to r intention of getting, then you’ll have to do twice the training compared to someone with STEM degree. First, you have to learn some skills, it may seem a lot but you will get used to them. Skills such as SQL, Python, and machine learning are highly recommended skills you must have, as that is what will build your foundation. Then, get involved in simple projects that will help sharpen your experience. Engage in personal data science projects, most of the time, those projects will be be done free of charge as you’re after the experience at this level.
