A non-binary person is someone who does not exclusively identify as a man or a woman. Someone who is non-binary might feel like a mix of genders, or like they have no gender at all.
While it is not the case that the lives of non-binary persons are threatened in Nigeria, the country exactly does not have provision for such persons. Nigeria is a very religious country, and the sound of LGBTQ+ sounds almost like a taboo to the people there. But as bad as it may be, there are non-binary individuals living in the country. The concept of existing beyond gender sounds strange and foreign to most Nigerians. This makes the existence of non-binary people even more difficult than it should be.
