There are pictures of Jesus out there, does that mean some people have seen Him? Are those pictures real?

  1. All images of Jesus are made up, because people make up images when they have no real ones. Nobody knows what Jesus looks like. The images for first few hundred years of Christianity looked nothing like those we see now. He was golden haired, round headed – suspiciously like the images of the pagan sun god such as Apollo. Images of Jesus in Africa are often black. Images in Asia look suspiciously mongoloid.

  2. There are no known accurate pictures of Jesus. The gospel don’t even have a description of him. The pictures that we have are all cultural representations. The earliest ones are tomb paintings of a Good Shepherd, usually carrying a sheep on his shoulders. Rather early icons, typically Christ Pantocrator, started to share a stylized representation of Jesus. But, as Christianity expands around the world, there are all types of representations of Christ typically reflecting the locals.
