People defer admission for various reasons, some people are unsure about going to school, some because of funds, some health, etc. Most schools defer admission for just a year, for example if you’re admitted for 2021 fall, you can defer it and wait till 2022 fall. To know how long you can defer an admission, it’s best if you contact the admission department of your school. They will be able to provide accurate information.
Usually you can defer university for a year. This will depend on the institution you’re applying to and the availability of the course the following year. This will depend on the university’s policy. Talk to your university first. Consider the options you have, which may be deferring and restarting the following year or leaving uni and reapplying for the following year.
