I hate that I’m seeing a therapist and I tried letting my parents know this but they wouldn’t listen. I just want to lie to the therapist to get through every session with her.

  1. if you’re going to lie to your therapist then I would suggest that you just stopped going because that defeats the purpose of going to a therapist you should be secure enough with your therapist where you can be open and honest and tell them whatever and everything that’s going on with you I hide nothing from my therapist she knows me like a book but I’ve also gone through a lot of therapist to find somebody I was comfortable enough to speak to about everything that I have been through and dealt with but lying to your therapist defeats the purpose of going

  2. Please, don’t lie. They can’t help if they don’t know what’s happening. I think it’d be better to say there’s something about XYZ that you need to talk about, but can’t quite bring yourself to tell them yet. Now they’ve got a note to prove on that from time to time until you can tell them. If it’s the actual therapist that’s the problem – you don’t trust them, you have already felt judged, it just doesn’t feel “safe” to talk to them about big things – then, it’s time to find a new therapist. If you can’t tell them things because of those things, you won’t get the thrill you need.
